Clohane Wood Products - Skibbereen, Cork
In early 2021 we sat down with Clohane Wood Products with a view to streamlining their manufacturing processes. Clohane builds and installs high-end cabinetry and solid wood bespoke products. They do both private and commercial work including hotel, offices and retail fit-outs as well as kitchen, bedroom and office installations in private homes. Many of Clohane's products and construction methods are unique and specific to Clohane. Their existing software solution was complex, costly and time-consuming. It required a high level of operator skill to generate machine output for manufacturing and was prone to delivering incorrect output for no apparent reason.
After reviewing their product mix. It was decided that Dynamic CNC would build a custom product library within our Cadmus Manufacturing Software that would cater for approximately 90% of Clohane's production needs with many of these products being unique and complex. About 10% of their work is completely bespoke one-off products and it was decided that this work would be processed on a per-product basis via an existing CAD system and routed to the CNC via Enroute CAM software.
Along with our Cadmus Software Solution, Clohane invested in a Raptor Ultra Nesting Line plus new and improved tooling, vastly increasing their processing speeds. With the majority of their products now being pulled from the Cadmus product library their screen-to-machine time has been greatly reduced and simplified, virtually eliminating mistakes and the high level of complexity that existed previously. The new Cadmus Product Library was ready to run when the machine arrived.
DC Woodworks - Baconstown, Meath
DC Woodworks only 30 minutes from Dublin are sitting on the edge of Ireland's largest kitchen and bedroom market. They have a varied product mix ranging from one off bespoke kitchen, bedroom and living space installs, to high volume fit outs for large housing developments. In 2022 Dermot Clavin the owner approached us looking for a solution for growing his business. He was looking for a share of the Dublin market.
We took Dermot on a visit to some of our existing customers, and the result was an order for a 2128 Raptor Line along with our Cadmus software and a comprehensive product library installed at his workshop in Baconstown in 2023.
With our Cadmus software DC Woodworks quickly generates the output required for any job, be it a bespoke Gola or Face frame Kitchen, or the next 20 Kitchens and Wardrobes for an ongoing development. Cadmus along with the high-speed Raptor Nesting Line introduces a lean manufacturing environment into any workshop, and brings with it, huge cost savings, increased flexibility, a high level of organisation, and the ability to do so much more.
